What we do

Scleral & Specialty Contact Lenses.

Scleral lenses are large-diameter rigid gas-permeable contact lenses that vault over the cornea and rest on the white of the eye. They are the optical and therapeutic answer for corneas that don't accept standard contact lenses — keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, post-surgical ectasia (LASIK, RK), severe dry eye, neurotrophic keratitis.

Dr. Charissa Young is a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society (FSLS) and the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Dr. Carol Chou completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Between them, they manage the scleral lens caseload at both offices.

A scleral lens fitting is not a single visit. The initial assessment, lens design, dispensing, and adaptation period typically span three to five visits. The result, for the right patient, is vision they have not had in years.
