Common insurance questions.
Do you accept VSP?
Yes. Puget Sound Eye Care is an in-network VSP provider at both the Seattle (Wallingford) and Bellevue (Eastgate) locations. VSP typically covers one comprehensive exam per year plus a frame or contact lens allowance.
Does my vision insurance cover contact lenses?
Most vision plans (VSP, EyeMed, Regence, Premera) include a contact lens allowance in place of a frame allowance. The amount varies by plan. We will check your specific benefit before your fitting.
Can I use my HSA or FSA for eye care?
Yes. Eye exams, prescription lenses, contact lenses, and Ortho-K fittings are all HSA/FSA eligible. We accept HSA and FSA cards directly.
What if I do not have vision insurance?
We see uninsured patients at a straightforward self-pay rate. Call (206) 526-5222 to get the current fee for the exam type you need.
Is medical insurance accepted for eye care visits?
Yes, for medically necessary visits — dry eye treatment, glaucoma monitoring, diabetic eye exams, and certain urgent care visits may be billed to medical insurance (Kaiser Permanente, Premera, Regence, BCBS, Aetna, UHC, Cigna, MetLife) rather than vision insurance.
