What we do
We co-manage glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, anterior segment disease, and post-surgical care with our patients' specialists and primary care physicians. Dr. Curtis Ono completed advanced certifications in ocular therapeutic drugs, laser, and oral / injectable medications during his post-graduate training.
Glaucoma care includes visual field testing, optic nerve OCT, intraocular pressure monitoring (often diurnal), pachymetry, and gonioscopy. We follow patients longitudinally — the question is never just "is the pressure controlled today," but "is the optic nerve stable over time."
Diabetic patients receive a dilated retinal exam annually (more frequently when retinopathy is present). Macular degeneration patients are tracked with OCT and Amsler grid monitoring at home. Anterior segment disease (uveitis, dry eye, infectious or allergic conjunctivitis) is managed in-office.
