Puget Sound Eye Care has operated in the Seattle-Bellevue market since 1978. We are an independent, family-founded practice — not a private-equity rollup, not a vision chain. The doctors who own the practice work in it every day.

Clinical depth over volume
We run longer appointments than most corporate practices — 30 to 45 minutes for a comprehensive exam. You have time to do the work right.
Family-founded, clinician-led
Dr. Melvin Carlson founded the practice in 1978. His son Dr. Matt Carlson leads it now. Decisions are made by doctors, not administrators.
Two locations, one culture
Wallingford and Eastgate operate as one team. Staff cross-train between locations. There is no A-team and B-team.
Investment in specialties
We have built specialty programs in myopia control and dry eye management. If you want to develop expertise in a clinical niche, the infrastructure exists.
